PERSONAL STATIONARY

For Christmas this year, I wanted to use everything I've learned over the past two years from calligraphy, and somehow make my friend's and family's gifts. I know that sounds very second-grade-ish to make your gifts, but I had a vision of personalized stationary, and I honestly could not be happier with the outcome.

Some of the cards I made stamps out of my calligraphy, then embossed the notecards. Some of them I simply used the stamp. and the rest of them I just did calligraphy! To complete the stationary set, I picked out beautiful paper and made envelope liners out of them. Each of my family and friends got a set of 10 cards and corresponding 10 envelopes.

TABLE NUMBERS

Sent to me from a great customer who gave me free reign on her escort cards (so much fun!)

BACK

I'm back from vacation! This past week I worked on finishing up a few wedding projects, one pictured above. For the next month or two I'll be focusing on designing a logo for a friend, and writing a wedding invitation.

MIX MATCH

I have been busy the past couple of weeks working on wedding invitations, logos, and cards! I am absolutely loving designing invitations so hopefully there are more of those in my future.

NAVY AND GOLD

I have discovered there are certain colors that I will never get sick of. White ink, gold ink, navy cardstock, and obviously any combination of the three!

DUKE FONT

Naming fonts was one of the most fun things I got to do when opening up my Etsy shop. I chose names that meant something to me -- Summer is my niece's name, Ernie is what I call my older sister, Westridge is the community I grew up in, Brooklyn is my other niece, and so on. This Duke font (where I went to college) has been very popular lately, and I'm not complaining because I love the clean lines and contrast of thick and thin.

PETER LOVES JANE INTERVIEW!

Yesterday, I was featured on the blog, Peter Loves Jane! I felt so incredibly flattered that Nikkol asked me about my business and my love of writing. I have always loved looking at wedding blogs, and Peter Loves Janes does not disappoint. Go check it out!

DOILIES + TAGS

A few orders I am sending out -- kraft tags for a New York wedding, and doilies for escort cards! I absolutely love when I get to experiment with writing on different materials. Makes my job more interesting.

WHITE INK

As I mentioned before, my favorite ink to use is white, and has been since I started calligraphy. White looks so crisp against everything. Clean, bright, and fresh against any dark background.

SHORT WEEK

Tomorrow after work I am flying back home for the weekend! I haven't been back since I moved out to San Francisco and I couldn't be more excited. I already don't have work on Friday so I took full advantage of my normal short week. I'm hoping before I leave for the weekend that I can upload my pictures from my surprise project that I'm dying to share! We'll see how fast packing goes tonight...

MERCI BEAUCOUP

I have added a new set of thank you notecards in my Etsy shop! Right now there are limited quantities available, but if there is a lot of interest I would love to offer more. I personally think these are the cutest little note cards, super easy to jot a quick thank you on. I am probably going to offer these in gold as well sometime in the near future!
